Statement:
"So that I can be, I have to be someone else go out of myself, look for myself amongst the others, the others who are not if I do not exist, the others who give me full existence"
Octavio Paz
As a photographer born in a country of enormous contrasts and inequalities, I often portray social classes different from the one I belong to. All throughout my career in this circle, I have noticed the little attention that the Mexican photographic-documentary sector pays to the middle and middle-high class, due to the tendency to social margination as a thematic frame.
Such lack brought upon a change in the contents of my pictures and channelled this proposal towards the search of an intimate essay of my privileged environment. With no intention to judge, and a kind look, I investigate situations that represent how important it is for me to be part of a group of people joined together by friendship. Thus, I seek to turn the faces and existence of my friends into signs that recall self experiences in the spectator.
